About Us

GoodCTZN was started by Ron Gorodetzky and Kavi Harshawat, two friends who met working for the United States Digital Service under President Obama. There we saw first-hand how the perspective introduced by design and engineering expertise can improve outcomes in all kinds of organizations. We want to help people in real and meaningful ways, so we set out to bring the benefits of technology to smaller mission-driven organizations which may not have access to the engineering or design resources traditionally concentrated in places like Silicon Valley.

Ron Gorodetzky

Ron is a Computer Engineer currently based in Los Angeles. Most recently Ron worked at the United States Digital Service on projects at several federal agencies. Before that he worked at YouTube on backend systems and was an original member of the video data infrastructure team. Prior to that he was a co-founder of FFlick and Revision3, and the second engineer at Digg where he helped build the company’s infrastructure.

Kavi Harshawat

Kavi is a User Experience Researcher and Designer based in San Francisco, CA. Kavi was a founding member of the United States Digital Service at the Department of Veterans Affairs. There he led a team of more than thirty engineers, designers, product managers, lawyers, and more to modernize VA’s Disability Claim Appeals process and software. Prior to that, Kavi was a Code for America Fellow where he worked with the city of Denver to help improve the way they built services for residents using technology. Kavi worked at the social question and answer startup, Aardvark and Google, as an early member of the Google+ team.
